How to Create a Fire Sprinkler Submittal Package with Caident

By Outhone Bounkhoun July 28, 2026 3 min read

Creating a fire sprinkler material submittal often involves searching through manufacturer websites, downloading product datasheets, finding the pages relevant to your project, and combining everything into a final PDF.

Caident’s Submittal Generator simplifies this process by giving you one place to find product documentation, select exactly what you want to include, organize your datasheets, and generate a complete submittal package.

In this guide, we’ll walk through the basic process of creating a fire sprinkler submittal package using Caident’s Submittal Generator.

1. Search for Product Datasheets

Start by searching Caident’s product catalog for the parts included in your project.

The Submittal Generator uses a vendor-agnostic catalog, allowing you to search for products across multiple manufacturers without having to visit individual manufacturer websites.

Use the available search options to narrow down the catalog and locate the specific products you need for your submittal.

Once you find a product, add its datasheet to your submittal package.

Search Across Manufacturers

Fire sprinkler systems frequently contain products from multiple manufacturers. Instead of searching each manufacturer’s website separately, you can build a single package using products from across Caident’s catalog.

This makes it easier to collect the documentation for an entire project while keeping the process in one place.

2. Choose Which Datasheet Pages to Include

Not every page of a manufacturer’s datasheet is necessarily relevant to your project.

Manufacturers sometimes use a single datasheet to document multiple product models, configurations, sizes, or related products. As a result, a datasheet may contain several pages of information that don’t apply to the specific product being submitted.

Caident lets you choose which pages from a datasheet should be included in your package.

After adding a datasheet, review its pages and select the ones that contain the information relevant to your project. Unnecessary pages can be excluded from the final package.

This gives you more control over the finished submittal and helps keep the documentation focused on the products being used.

Tip: Before removing pages, make sure the remaining documentation contains all of the product information required for your project and AHJ.

3. Organize Your Datasheets

Once you’ve selected the documentation you need, arrange the datasheets in the order you want them to appear in the final package.

Caident allows you to drag and reorder the selected datasheets directly within the Submittal Generator.

For example, you may want sprinkler documentation first, followed by piping, fittings, valves, hangers, or other system components. The exact organization can depend on your company’s standards, the project, or the preferences of the reviewing jurisdiction.

Simply drag each datasheet into the desired position before generating the package.

4. Review Your Submittal

Before building the final package, take a moment to review your selections.

Confirm that you’ve included the correct products, selected the appropriate datasheet pages, and arranged the documents in the order you want.

This is also a good opportunity to verify that your documentation matches the products specified in the final sprinkler design.

5. Build Your Submittal Package

Once everything is configured, click Build.

Caident takes your selected datasheets, page selections, and document order and uses them to generate the final submittal package.

Instead of manually downloading, editing, organizing, and combining individual manufacturer PDFs, the package is assembled based on the configuration you’ve already created in the Submittal Generator.

A Simpler Way to Build Fire Sprinkler Submittals

The Submittal Generator is designed to reduce the repetitive document work involved in preparing fire sprinkler material submittals.

The basic workflow is simple:

  1. Search for the products used in your project.
  2. Select the datasheet pages you want to include.
  3. Organize the datasheets in your preferred order.
  4. Build the finished submittal package.

With the product documentation collected and assembled in one place, you can spend less time searching through manufacturer websites and managing PDFs and more time focused on completing the project.
