Caident Design Integration with CaidentCalc

CaidentCalc and Caident Design product integration for a connected fire sprinkler design and hydraulic calculation workflow

Caident Design now connects directly with CaidentCalc, making it easier to move from designing a fire sprinkler system to running hydraulic calculations. Instead of entering the nodes, pipes, and calculation areas again in CaidentCalc, that information can be sent directly from the Caident Design drawing.

The integration also introduces an automatic calculation mode that can send hydraulic results back to Caident Design as you work, giving you a faster way to see how changes to the design affect the calculation.

Send a fire sprinkler design to CaidentCalc

From Caident Design, select Send to CaidentCalc to send the fire sprinkler design to CaidentCalc. CaidentCalc will prompt you to accept the incoming calculation and then populate the calculation editor with the nodes, pipes, and calculation areas from the design.

From there, you can review the calculation information, make changes if needed, and run the hydraulic calculation.

Automatic calculations

With automatic mode enabled, CaidentCalc can run the hydraulic calculation whenever it receives an updated model from Caident Design. Once the calculation is complete, the pass/fail results are sent back to Caident Design.

This gives you hydraulic feedback while you’re working on the drawing and makes it easier to see how design changes affect the calculation without manually updating the calculation each time.

Keep your calculation in sync

CaidentCalc keeps track of whether the calculation results match the latest design received from Caident Design. If the design has changed since the last calculation, CaidentCalc lets you know that the results are out of date.

The same applies if you make changes directly in the CaidentCalc editor after running a calculation. If the calculation inputs change, CaidentCalc lets you know that the displayed results need to be recalculated.
