The Caident journey began in 2023, when a team of software and AI experts started meeting with fire sprinkler design firms to explore how automation could transform daily operations.
Our first project was ambitious: using AI to automatically place sprinklers in accordance with code, aesthetics, and principles of constructability. This early proof of concept showed what was possible — but it also revealed something bigger.
Many parts of the fire sprinkler design process were ripe for automation, including:
Project data collection
CAD cleanup and preparation
Incorporation of local rules and ordinances
Hydraulic calculations
Automated design reviews
From there, Caident began partnering directly with designers and contractors to create tools that integrate seamlessly into real-world workflows — always with an eye on saving time, reducing errors, and simplifying compliance.
